What is it about that appealing quality that you find in a bride’s faces? A beauty that is beyond makeup.
You also find it in certain rare flowers, paintings, music and poetry. It’s so extraordinarily that there is only one word for it: exquisite!
When a bride comes to me so that I may design a bridal makeup look around her antique lace veil and/or gown I take a very delicate approach to the makeup application. It’s all about embracing a softer look with minimal eye-liner by reserving it exclusively for the lower lash line; and even rendering it in a shade of golden brown to pick up the gilded accents of your jewelry. I create soft shaded cocoa lids, luminous skin, and a dab of fresh golden, barely there nude gloss to complete the look.
Knowing what kind of makeup styles work with your gown is a good start to defining your bridal look. But, ultimately it’s your luminous complexion that is the most important factor in maintaining the balance and beauty of the face with the bridal gown. I highly recommend that my brides discover the world of facial serums. I love putting these type of products on my brides’ faces because serums are formulated to be instantly absorbed by the skin. Plus brides always notice that their lines are less noticeable. I like to mix the foundation with a bit of serum to maintain the tenderness of the luster of their skin throughout the ceremony and reception. A good serum will leave your skin lightly hydrated, velvety smooth and illuminated when applying your own makeup.
