Red Carpet Bridal Beauty Inspiration

The Grammys Awards 2015 ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 8th in Los Angeles was one of the most expectant events of the year. There were plenty of celebrities sporting spectacular evening gowns, flawless makeup and gorgeous hairstyle at the red carpet. Some of them were so stunning that one couldn’t tear oneself away from those red carpet beauties. I’ve picked out some of the best red carpet looks spotted at Grammy Awards 2015 that will inspire brides for their own red carpet event.  I enjoyed watching the fearless, show-stopping fashions, but these three ladies had the best glam from head to toe. As far as Red Carpet Bridal Beauty Inspiration goes, each one of these celebs got it right for the brides!

Chrissy Teigen wore her blonde highlights in bombshell beachy waves.

Chrissy Teigen’s hair screams bombshell, a look that can be achieved by adding hair extensions for both length and volume. Hair extensions that are heat resistant are ideal. Mist hair with a heat protectant spray that also provides a shine boost. Take a two-inch curling iron and curl two-inch pieces of hair away from the face, stopping the curling iron at about the same height as your ear. Chrissy gave dimension to her blond locks by adding individual strands of gold hair. Finish off the look with a light-hold hairspray, to keep hair in place. All in all, she had had an entirely flawless look – perfect for bridal! She had her eyes lined with black liner and a beautiful chocolate eyeshadow that was subtle, yet dramatic.

What was the most popular accessory at the 2015 Grammys? Skin.

So, how does Gwen Stefani always have a flawless face? An easy trick is to apply a moisturizing serum, and let it absorb into the skin before applying makeup. A moisturized face will always be the best canvas for a perfect makeup look. Once the product has been fully absorbed, prime the face with a silicone-based makeup primer. Next, apply a liquid foundation in a shade that matches your skin tone. Use a brush to blend product into the skin, making sure to cover the jaw line and neck. Add a peachy blush to the apples of the cheeks. Take a shimmering bronzer and apply it to the hollows of the cheeks, sweeping it up to the temples. Set the face makeup with a translucent powder, to ensure that makeup stays put throughout your wedding event.

Ariana Grande looked like an absolutely flawless Greek goddess in her one-shouldered Atelier Versace with metallic silver accents.

I predict that her sleek, high ponytail will be a big trial run request for our upcoming brides. To accentuate her gorgeous look she wore a shimmery gold eye shadow, with the colors being gold and brown based and paired it with false lashes and a nude lip. The best part was her feline eye look that was created with a black liquid eyeliner that elongated her eyes, like a cat’s. It was one of the most dramatic looks of the evening, but the application looks gorgeous on her. This catlike look is as hot as a smoky eye but takes fewer steps and way less makeup — that means no meltdowns, perfect for your big day!

Bridal tip for fierce cat-eye wings:

Layering liquid liner pencil is the key to a stay-put look. The liquid dries and locks down the first layer of color. With a black liquid-liner pen, make four evenly spaced dashes over the pencil line, then connect them. To ensure a clean line, use a cotton swab with makeup remover, then concealer on the bottom edge of her freshly painted wing.

100 Years of Bridal Hair & Makeup Looks – A Vintage Bridal Study

Down The Aisle Style: 100 Years of Bridal Hair & Makeup Looks

Today’s blog attempts to beautifully and chronologically demonstrate with the bridal beauty fashion history from the past 100 years. This year is all about vintage inspired weddings and bridal hair is no exception. As a professional makeup artist dedicated to brides I feel it’s crucial that I share knowledge of wedding trends and styling, so in an attempt to grow my own understanding of what vintage weddings through the past 100 years were all about, I offer you this blog. Since a lot of my brides want a wedding look that expresses their personal style while also reflecting a rich tradition, it’s important being specific about the era a certain wedding is based upon and not simply generalizing all styles to this vague, blurred term that ‘vintage’ is. Nothing achieves that goal as gracefully as vintage hair and makeup. Here is a luscious look at wedding beauty fashions from the turn of the 20th century to the present. Let’s take a look back at the best of the last century.

1913-2013 - A dazzling tour of the past hundred years of bridal fashion.

1913-2013 – A dazzling tour of the past hundred years of bridal fashion.

Bridal vintage style is associated with classy sexiness, youthful wholesomeness, and flawless beauty. Vintage styles have never been more popular, with style icons like Scarlett Johansson to Dita Von Teese indulging in retro glamour. In fact the trend of retro pinup-style clothing, hair, and makeup is emerging in contemporary art, movies, ads, and on the fashion runways. Taking inspiration from burlesque divas and celebrities, so many of our brides seek to enhance their image with the effortless glamour and mysterious charisma of classic pinup beauty. BRIDAL MAKEOVERS Innovative & creative styling to bring you stellar makeup and hair artistry. Specializing in hair and make-up from the 1920’s – 1980’s we can transform you into a jazz era flapper girl, a starlet from Hollywood’s golden age, a rock n roll pin-up or a 60’s sex kitten! We at BRIDAL MAKEOVERS have a passion for beauty from a bygone era yet, love the idea of a vintage style wedding gown and hair with more modern makeup done in fresh ways. TIP: First create an inspiration board that features rouge lip colors that are pulled from a vanity table drawer from long ago, mixed with futuristic glittery eye accents, timeless natural tones and indelible smoky shadows and liners. The idea is you want to mix of old and new makeup techniques for a contemporary yet vintage look. The overall message: pair vintage with modern to make a statement that’s unique and all your own for your bridal makeup.

Grammy Awards 2013: Best Red Carpet Bridal Makeup & Hair

Another Awards show has come and gone, and The Grammy’s did not disappoint! Though music’s biggest night usually brings out celebrities’ most wild styles, the 2013 Grammys produced more traditional fashion moments. I found myself loving so many hair and makeup red carpet looks.  Here are the favorites of the night that are perfect for bridal. . . Whether or not they walked home with a statue, they’re winners in our book for highlighting their best features and inspiring our brides with these gorgeous makeup looks and hairstyles.

Bridal Inspiration: The Enduring Influence of Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe is the epitome of glamour. The screen siren, who taught all of my brides-to-be that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, is getting my creative ideas flowing.

2012 is the 50th anniversary of the late great blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe’s passing. I’ve been doing professional makeup for over 20 years and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked to do the  “Marilyn Monroe look”  since she  represents glamour, style, and elegance – qualities that most brides look to embody on their wedding day.

This blog is dedicated to the beautiful, wonderful, and talented Marilyn Monroe. This is the first in my Hollywood Icon series and it was inspired by Marilyn Monroe. After 50 years her legacy seems to be bigger than ever, and her memory will never die. She has left a huge impact on this world. From smoldering to demure, Marilyn Monroe channeled every facet of femininity, often using makeup to express herself.

New York International Bridal Week – Awesome Hair and Makeup Trends For 2013

We are coming off of one of the biggest weekends for the wedding industry: Bridal Fashion Week. Taking place in New York bi-annually, it attracts buyers, editors, bloggers, event designers and planners and showcases the most glamorous designs the bridal world has to offer. From the catwalk to the altar. It seems as couture fashion this season is all about “white lace and promises!” I love to see the hot trends on the runway and how they inspire real brides!

2013 New York International Fashion Bridal Week – Hair & Makeup Trends

The bridal industry is all about innovation, and Bridal Fashion Week highlights the trendsetting positioning and cutting-edge details that Bridal Makeovers exemplifies. Aradia of Bridal Makeovers takes trends that she sees on the runway, combines them with her imagination and then has her team replicate them for bridal clients. This season, designers unanimously returned to tradition with elegant lace, long sleeves, and classic silhouettes. There were fresh silhouettes, billowy ball gowns, and couture details. Here is the preview of next season’s hottest bridal hair and makeup trends—straight from the runway. And it doesn’t take much imagination to see these ethereal white creations walking down the aisle…

Bridal Market was this past weekend, and here are a few trends we’re seeing:

A memorable Bridal Fashion Week is winding down. The models have sashayed down the catwalks in the most exquisite gowns and the wedding industry collectively ‘ooed’ at the clouds of tulle, glamorous silks, satins, ruffles and intricate lace that graced the shows. Bridal beauty trends this year from the top designers – Monique Lhuillier, Oscar de la Renta, and Vera Wang included. When these couturiers recently hit New York to reveal their collections I not only became obsessed with what I saw on the runways (soft colors, dramatic ruffles, and sheer everything), I couldn’t wait to share with my brides the elements that will inspire their bridal looks. So take a peek at my favorite new looks from the hottest names in bridal, and check out the wedding beauty trends I am spotting now.

The Look: The fashion world was all aflutter last week as designer Monique Lhuillier presented her frothy confections of white lace, tulle, and satin floating down the runway. The models makeup looks were very dreamlike, ultra-feminine and sensual with different textures, ranging from shimmer to matte with sparse shimmer to pearly in shades of pretty peach with iridescence and taupes with coppery shimmers. I am enamored by these luscious looks. Continue Reading…
